In 2015, CREW Atlanta member Denise Meng, owner of Sign*A*Rama, was the hub for approximately $260,000 worth of business with 15 CREW Atlanta members.
When the economy crashed in 2008, Meng’s connections with CREW Atlanta members saved her commercial sign company, allowing it to thrive in an otherwise difficult time for the industry. CREW committee involvement, including roles as co-chair of the CREW Atlanta leadership program, the chapter’s UCREW program, and as member of the CREW Network Scholarship Selection Committee, led to organic business development for her company.
Over the course of her career, Meng has conducted business with more than 50 CREW Atlanta members at multiple properties across the Southeast U.S. A few highlights include:
As the owner of multiple parking facilities in Atlanta, Susana Chavez with Parking Company of America has chosen Sign*A*Rama as its vendor of choice for several years. The two have worked together on at least 10 PCA parking facilities generating close to $200,000 in overall revenue—a significant impact on the growth of Sign*A*Rama.
Property managers such as Lauren Whitlock with RPO Property Management, LLC; Cathleen Clayton Young with CBRE, Inc.; Heather O’Toole with Accesso Services LLC; and Katherine Brooks with Hines have all used Sign*A*Rama as their vendor for ongoing building-related signage needs and refer Sign*A*Rama to tenants in need of signage. As CREW members have changed companies, Sign*A*Rama has followed them while retaining the ongoing business at their former companies.
Meng says that the personal and professional support network she has developed through active involvement in CREW Atlanta and CREW Network has “changed my life in so many positive aspects!”
