Free Money!

When you were growing up, a buck was a buck, right? My siblings and I often thought of creative ways to make money as kids. Yes, there was the requisite lemonade stand, perhaps a paper route and for me, babysitting. We were taught that we had to earn our way. Those creative juices brought in some good cash in our younger days…we thought one dollar was big money when we were 10 years old. 

I have never taken for granted my ability to earn my way, I think that lesson was well taught by my parents. It does a person good to work hard to get where they want to go, and working hard to earn money can take all shapes and forms. At CREW Network, we welcome those who are earning their way in commercial real estate undergraduate and graduate programs through hard work and dedication. That is why we are giving away FREE MONEY. Yes, that’s right, FREE. We have excellent scholarship opportunities for young women.

Oh, yes, our scholarship recipients do earn it. They have earned great GPAs, external experience in the workforce and made a commitment to the profession. We are looking for a few great women—or rather 25—to give scholarships of $5,000 USD, along with paid internship opportunities, 18 months of CREW membership and registration to the 2021 Convention.

I have often wanted to stand on the street and yell, “FREE MONEY!” I am sort of doing that now. This is me, yelling to all of you, that CREW Network Foundation believes in the next generation of women in the industry. We want to invest in you. We want you to earn our scholarship and use it to become part of our talent pipeline of smart, hardworking professionals. It is rather like yelling, “Lemonade! Ten cents a cup!” Only so much more.
