CREW Network Members Elect 2017 Board of Directors

NEW YORK — Six women were elected to the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Board of Directors, which will be led by President Alison Beddard in 2017. The announcement was made at the 2016 CREW Network Convention and Marketplace, held October 19-22 at the New York Hilton Midtown. Beddard and the other members of the 2017 board will officially take office in January.

“In CREW Network's envisioned future, women will achieve parity in opportunity, influence and power in the commercial real estate industry globally,” Beddard said. “I am thrilled to lead this team of industry leaders providing our members a trusted platform for business opportunities through technology, a diverse network, leadership training and career advancement in 2017 and beyond.”

Beddard is a Director of Office and Investment Brokerage Services at Cushman and Wakefield Commerce, a regional full service commercial real estate services firm affiliated with Cushman and Wakefield. Beddard has built a successful office and investment brokerage practice representing national and regional companies, institutions and non-profit organizations, in all aspects of commercial brokerage including acquisitions, dispositions, build-to-suits, land acquisition, leasing and sales, closing over $173 million in transactions between 2010-2015. In addition, she is a member of the Cushman and Wakefield National Healthcare Practice Group.

She serves on the Advisory Board of Zions Bank Women’s Financial Group and on the Salt Lake City Downtown Master Plan Advisory Group. She is a 2016 honoree of Utah Business Magazine’s 30 Women to Watch and a 2013 honoree of Utah Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40.

New Board Members

Six members were elected to serve as incoming 2017 CREW Network board positions:

Tara Piurko, 2017 President-Elect, is an equity partner in the Canadian law firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon in the firm’s commercial real estate group. Piurko specializes in and leads her firm’s land development, real property assessment and taxation, and municipal law subspecialty. She has been a member of Toronto CREW since 2007 and has held various leadership positions since 2009. Piurko was elected to the Toronto CREW Board of Directors in 2012 and in 2014 served as president. She is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers’ volunteer leadership team, acting as Provincial Government Relations Committee Chair for Ontario. Piurko, who served as a Director in 2016, is the second Canadian to serve as a CREW Network board member, and will be the first to serve as President.

Gayle Bourdeau, Director, is Vice President and Associate Senior Underwriting Counsel at Stewart Title Guaranty Company Commercial Services office in Boston. Bourdeau underwrites and closes local, national and international commercial real estate transactions with a strong focus on complex, multi-site, multi-state portfolio transactions. She also focuses on business development and has nearly 20 years of experience in the title insurance industry. A member of CREW Boston since 2003, Bourdeau has chaired several committees, served on the Board of Directors and as Chapter President. She currently serves as a Champion Director for the CREW Network Foundation.

Jeanette Flory-Sagan, Director, is the Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management at Bentall Kennedy LP with responsibility for various aspects of Asset Management of MEPT, a $7 billion dollar open-end, commingled fund of office, industrial, retail and multi-family assets totaling over 31 million square feet. Flory-Sagan joined Bentall Kennedy in 1998 and was made principal in 2008, the first female partner in the firm’s history. She previously served on the boards of CREW Seattle and Sound and CREW-Miami. She is currently on the Membership Committee for CREW Washington DC and is a CREW Network Foundation Woman of Vision.

Sharon Herrin, Director, is Owner and President of Herrin Commercial Real Estate, established in 2002. Her career spans over 35 years in commercial real estate, and she currently specializes in the lease and sale of retail and income producing properties. Prior to establishing Herrin Commercial Real Estate, Sharon was Vice President of Stanford Realty and Management, B & L Management and Norman Luterman Interests. Herrin has been a member of CREW Dallas since 1990 and has served as Chapter President, Sponsorship Co-Chair, and Programs Chair and Co-Chair. She has served as a CREW Network Chapter Delegate and a Board Trustee for the CREW Network Foundation, and is a CREW Network Foundation Woman of Vision.

Gillian Lawrence, Director, is the General Manager of Land Development at Remington Development Corporation, a privately owned full service development company headquartered in Calgary, Canada. She joined the company in 2006 as the Director of Planning and was promoted to General Manager of Land Development in 2013. A member of CREW Calgary since 2006, Lawrence is a Past President and has served on the CREW Calgary Board since 2013. Prior to her role on the Board, she chaired CREW Calgary’s Education and Events Committee. Lawrence is the third Canadian to serve on the CREW Network Board of Directors.

Claire Roberts, Director, is an investment broker and a member of the National Office and Industrial Properties Group at the Minneapolis office of Marcus & Millichap. She joined Marcus & Millichap in 2014, bringing with her nearly 20 years of experience as a landlord rep and tenant rep. Roberts was a member of CREW Detroit for over 10 years, chaired several committees and served on the Board of Directors for three years.  After relocating to the Twin Cities, she joined MNCREW and served on that Board of Directors for six years and as Chapter President. Roberts has also served on the CREW Network Foundation’s former Grant Making Committee, as a Trustee, and most recently, as a Director.
