CREW Network is pleased to announce a new website where members can upload their personal profiles as well as search other member profiles for potential speaking opportunities. This new speakers’ directory will serve as a resource for presenters of all levels and topics, from technical to professional development to market knowledge.
This service originated when Barbi Reuter, chief operating officer at PICOR Commercial Real Estate Services and CREW Network board of directors member, learned that CREW Network CEO Gail Ayers personally played matchmaker for countless chapter speaker needs, linking requests with known member expertise. At the time, Ayers expressed that creating a directory had been a long-term goal, so Reuter tapped Merri Cross, CREW St. Louis member and chair of the 2015 Communications & Editorial Committee, to bring it to the committee.
Shortly thereafter, Ayers marshaled the technical, financial and staff resources to create this web-based directory. This simple interface is strategically linked to and populated by CREWBiz member data and will be a tremendous resource, both for chapters seeking expertise and for members to promote their industry thought leadership.
The directory is initially intended as a members-only benefit. Any member with commercial real estate industry-specific expertise is welcome to create a profile.
In creating a speaker profile, members will be asked to include a brief bio, estimated speaking expenses and costs, and presentation history including title, description, reference and outcomes. There is also an option to upload a resume and link to past presentations.
CREW Network has fielded numerous inquiries for subject-matter experts to present at forecast programs, holiday events and milestone celebrations throughout the 70-plus chapter network across North America. To search for possible speakers, members can either view the complete list of speakers or search by multiple options such as name, topic, speaker fees or city.
Cross, manager of business development at Dentons, believes the new site will recognize the talent throughout the membership, having seen the high quality of speakers available through delegate, regional and national conferences.
Reuter agrees, noting, “Our nearly 10,000 CREW members are rich with talent and wisdom; connecting those dots is a natural.”
