When the Village of Villa Park, Ill., had a parcel of vacant land to sell, it was Director of Economic Development Jan Fiola’s goal to determine the highest and best use, market the property and get it sold.

Jan called on fellow CREW Chicago members Julie Sorensen and Sue Ulman to help prepare an appraisal and complete the Phase 1 environmental analysis.

“I knew both of these women, yet I used CREWbiz to confirm Sue’s contact information to assure I had the most up-to-date email,” Jan said. “I love CREWbiz and refer to it on a regular basis.”

Julie and Sue won the competitive bids and provided the uality service needed to get the property sold. On June 30, 2016, a developer for Pet Supplies Plus closed on the property for $720,000.

“I would highly recommend Julie for environmental analysis and Sue for an appraisal,” Jan said. “It made my job that much easier to get this vacant property sold and back on the Village tax rolls. Both are wonderful to work with – and they provided the services they were contracted for, on time and within budget.”

CREW Chicago members involved in the deal:

  • Jan Fiola, Director of Economic Development, The Village of Villa Park
  • Julie Sorensen, Director, GRS/Corteq
  • Sue Ulman, President, Zimmerman Real Estate Group, Ltd.
