Civil engineer Pam Little met entrepreneur Sara Silvio, an industrial engineer by education, through the CREW Atlanta Mentor/Protegee Program in 2010. The program paired one CREW member with an interested non-member to mentor and encourage professional and personal development.
Silvio joined CREW Atlanta in 2006 and was actively involved in the mentor program. Little was owner of her own small engineering consulting business and later joined CREW in 2011. The two formed both a personal and professional bond that has provided years of successful business and project collaboration.
Their first collaboration occurred in 2011 when Silvio asked Little to provide professional engineering services on an industrial due diligence project she had been awarded. This was the first of many successful projects, which ranged from parking lots to large commercial buildings with values ranging from $5 to $100 million USD each.
They continue their successful business collaboration through Silvio’s company, Constructive Ingenuity, and Pond & Company, where Little serves as a principal and program manager. Their current projects have seen great success due to combining Pond’s expertise in federal engineering projects with Constructive Ingenuity’s industrial project management background. To date, they have collaborated together on projects totaling over $100 million. This incredible success has been a result of a decade long journey of two CREW members, their expertise, and collaborative support.
Both Little and Silvio continue to be very involved in CREW, serving on a myriad of committees. Both have been awarded the CREW Atlanta Entrepreneurial Spirit Award and the Career Advancement for Women Award. In addition, both have also served as Atlanta Chapter Champions and are graduates of the CREW Atlanta Leadership Program.
