CREW Network CRE Pledge for Action

For the commercial real estate industry to become more diverse, CEOs must commit to diversity, equity, inclusion and parity. CEOs should hold themselves and their employees responsible for implementing initiatives that support diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and for continually and consistently measuring and evaluating progress.

SIGN THE PLEDGE

Take a stand with us and commit to real change in commercial real estate

For more than 30 years, CREW Network has been advancing women and diversity in CRE. Our collective efforts to achieve parity and greater diversity are far from complete—in fact, very little progress has been made in the last 15 years.

According to our 2020 benchmark study:

  • Women earn 10% less than men in base salaries and 56% less in commission and bonuses annually.
  • Women occupy 36.7% of the industry.
  • Women hold just 9% of C-suite positions.
  • Only 16% of CRE workplaces have 25% or more staff that have diverse ethnicities, origins and backgrounds.

The CREW Network CRE Pledge for Action

To Advance Women and DEI

CREW Network invites industry CEOs to commit to these goals by signing on to an industry-wide pledge to DEI. Our pledge supports the advancement of women and other individuals in underrepresented groups including but not limited to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, religion and age.

CREW Network recognizes that each company has unique qualities, cultures and strategies for advancing DEI. We honor your individuality and recognize that your company is at the very beginning steps of an overall plan for making change. We embrace your commitment to this early stage by asking you to sign on to our Phase I pledge to demonstrate your commitment to change.

This pledge is a commitment to six goals:

Goal 1

Partner with CREW Network to support our mission to advance women and begin your efforts now to make change.

Goal 2

Close the compensation gap in our industry by conducting a pay equity study in your company.

Goal 3

Increase inclusion in your company through senior executive sponsorship of women and/or other individuals in underrepresented groups within the company.

Goal 4

Advance women to your company’s top roles to achieve gender diversity in leadership.

Goal 5

Increase diversity in your company and in the industry through intentional recruiting and hiring of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Goal 6

Implement accountability strategies in your company to measure progress.

When our benchmark study is released in 2025, we will instigate a Phase II of our industry-wide efforts to gauge next steps. We appreciate your commitment and support.

SIGN THE PLEDGE

As CEO, when you sign this pledge, you send a clear message to your team, partners and clients that you stand for women and DEI in the commercial real estate industry.
